Home >> Climate

The DPRK is a continental climate with 4 distinct seasons. Early Spring is sunny but chilly so bring a warm coat and under clothes. In late Spring light clothing in the day and warm clothing at night is needed. Summers are hot and humid, with occasional heavy rainfall during the day, so bring a light raincoat. Autumn has marked variations between day and night so be prepared. Winters can be bitterly cold, often with snow and minus temperatures but ideal for skiing with clear skies. Generally, the most pleasant times to visit are Spring and Autumn, providing milder temperatures and a more conducive atmosphere to sightseeing.

Having said that does not mean you should visit the country in Spring and Autumn only, as it should be rewarded a visit at all times of the year, and each season brings with it its own visual rewards. You just need to pack the right type of clothes, and the DPRK trip will not let you down.
